Trójkolorowi! After twelve rounds we have 27 points and second place — on Sunday Lech won in Warsaw and moved a point ahead of us.
On Friday Legia come to town — fourth, after their first defeat of the season. A win puts us back on top, at least until Lech play on Saturday.
A year ago, as leaders, we beat them 3:1 at Roosevelta. See you in the stands!
The match is organised by Górnik Zabrze S.A., ul. Roosevelta 81, 41-800 Zabrze.
Metting number 138
On Friday we face Legia for the 138th time. More than once, this fixture has decided the Polish title. And it all began in 1956.
In only the second round we travelled to Łazienkowska. Legia were the reigning champions with a very strong side. They won 3–1, and Henryk Czech scored Górnik's only goal. In the return match we came out on top and won 3–2.
A season later Górnik made a flying start and beat Legia 2–1. By the end of the campaign they had won their first league title, dethroning Legia.

Our coach stays
until 2030.
Yesterday Michal Gašparík signed a new contract with Górnik. He stays in Zabrze until the end of June 2030. His closest assistants, Marian Hodulik and Tomas Prisztacs, have also signed new deals.
He once played for Górnik. He took over as head coach in early June 2025. Last season he led us to the STS Polish Cup and runners-up spot in the league. His record: 60 games, 31 wins, 13 draws across the Ekstraklasa, the Polish Cup and European competition.
After training, club staff, players, coaches and his family were waiting for him in the middle of the pitch. Congratulations and a standing ovation followed. Tonight it's the stands' turn.
